Sometimes wine in California is TOO big and TOO alcoholic, losing quality for quantity, and overly fruit-forward for the region. There may even be a sampling of organically grown vegetables, fresh from their gardens, for visitors to enjoy. Visitors are encouraged to wander the extensive grounds and gardens. The barn was the site of the Adamson Winery, originally built in 1884, and then refurbished 110 years later to become the home of Frog’s Leap Winery. A leaping frog sculpture sits atop the large, red-barn-inspired winery building in Rutherford near the center of Napa Valley.
